CAAM, in collaboration with the Esperanza Community Housing, has invited 13 artists to exhibit their photographic work at Mercado La Paloma, located near downtown Los Angeles at 3655 South Grand Avenue. These photographs express and illustrate the artists’ ideas of the shared parallel experiences between African and Latino Americans in the areas of food, music, dance and perceptions. Over time, history and social culture have continued to demonstrate just how much these two American groups have in common and how these commonalities cross-pollinate each ethnic group. Exhibit hours 8am to 9pm.
